Cosmetic Surgery: Evolved, High-Tech, Not Plastic
Cosmetic Surgery, as we know it today, is something of an art form performed with great medical skills and backed by centuries of historical experiences. It has been centuries, yes indeed and in fact, millennia! Humans have tinkered with the shapes of the body’s exterior since 6 BC.
Throughout history since then, different civilized cultures have dabbled in cosmetic surgery procedures for various reasons and needs. Most often the purpose has been aesthetic in nature, but sometimes necessary for health and proper bodily function. In a brief and sordid mention, this type of surgery has also been practiced for the objective of dominance and control.
The burning ethical questions of this meddling with nature have also played a part in its development. Humans have always had these ideals of what the perfect body shapes should be. It has long been established, in the psychological realm, as ultimately serving the pursuits of procreation and elusive immortality, and of this there is no dispute. The matters of debate though, do vary in what constitutes this perfection.
Respectably Recognized
Beyond history and philosophy, cosmetic surgery today is well accepted as a respected medical field. Of course also known as plastic surgery, there is little or no plastic involved in most of it. It was first coined with lingual roots from antiquity, meaning molding and malleability, and not from the oil-based products of modern times. For both doctors and patients, it is now preferred to use more clinical sounding terminology.
Cosmetic surgeons perform two categorized types of procedures. The first, cosmetic surgery, involving myriads of aesthetic oriented operations most often are skin deep. The second being reconstructive surgery, encompassing both health issues and visual appearances but more radical and invasive.
Elected Modification
With this surgery, it is elected to modify all parts of the body. A surgeon, for a more attractive and youthful appearance, can rework every facial part, the entire torso, every limb and every extremity. This includes eyes, ears, noses, chins, necks, breasts, penis, calves, thighs, stomach, arms, and buttocks.
With technology and modern tools, this type of surgery can be performed efficiently and skillfully. The development of the laser has allowed surgeons unparallel precision, previously unimagined, with physical cutting instruments. The experimentation with liposuction, and other fatty tissue removal procedures, have become highly evolved and sophisticated with minimal trauma to the body.
Along with reduction of overstated parts, the enhancement of undersized parts is equally popular with patients. With grafts, implants, augmentation, and chemical injections, any area can be enlarged with natural looking and vigorous shaping.
Minor cosmetic surgeries are regularly performed, correcting small flaws in minutes, and major surgical projects can become an ongoing series of small operations over weeks, months, or even years. A licensed, experienced cosmetic surgeon is the one to consult when your desires lean toward this field of medicine.
Make informed decisions
This kind of surgery is not to be taken lightly. This is after all, a medical and surgical endeavor for a prospective patient. When completely voluntary, it often requires commitment, time and money. It almost always involves some discomfort, and can even be downright painful to endure. The benefits of better health, renewed morale and heightened self-esteem can be extremely gratifying. The results are the goal here, but it is worth contemplating that dissatisfying results are not easily reversed.
It should also be told that cosmetic surgery is not machinery repair. Even with a fancy box of tools and tricks, the cosmetic surgeon is still just a human working on the bodies of other human beings. Things sometimes do not go exactly as planned. Nor should too much unrealistic life-changing impact be expected. In the end, every human being is the sum of his or her intellect, hearts, and souls, underneath the flesh.
